Emirates online booking boost
Emirates celebrates upgraded booking engine with online competition
Dubai-based international airline Emirates has revamped its website flight booking module, making it more flexible, user-friendly and informative for New Zealand customers.
At the same time it has also made electronic ticketing available for its 14 weekly Trans Tasman services for travellers booking online, through the Emirates call centre or at the Emirates Auckland office.
To celebrate the successful launch of its upgraded internet booking engine, Emirates has also commenced an online competition that is rapidly catching the fancy of its website users. One lucky passenger using www.emirates.com will win two business class tickets and a luxury holiday of a lifetime at the One and Only Le Tousserok in Mauritius. A member of 'The Leading Hotels of the World', Le Toussrok is built in the style of a Mediterranean village and is the epitome of understated opulence and refinement.
Members of Skywards, the frequent flyer programme of Emirates, are also in for a treat as they can now login with their Skywards' membership number and password, allowing them to book their tickets online and edit their profile as necessary. Even more thrilling is the fact that they are entitled to double Skywards Miles for booking online before December 31.
A useful new feature on Emirates' website helps users create an online profile that automatically updates the booking form every time a passenger creates one, considerably reducing online transaction time.
Other powerful new features on the website include the ability to book different cabin classes for each segment of the passengers' journey, search flight availability across a range of dates, automatically calculate Skywards Miles, save itineraries for future repeat bookings, choose First and Business class seats along with chauffeur drive service, where available.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: "Emirates is constantly striving to integrate powerful functionality with the ultimate aim of serving our customers better through the website. We have invested heavily in www.emirates.com in terms of hardware, software, bandwidth, and personnel. Impressive as the new features are, we are already working on increasing functionality and over the next few months we will be introducing online redemption of Skywards Miles, ability to book connections on other airlines, hotel and car hire bookings, among others.
The website is comprehensive, providing passengers flight information, fares for all ages (adult, child, infant) on the selected routes, and the ability to make multiple bookings on a one way, return or a multiple sector journey. Bookings can be made for flights departing between 8 hours to almost 12 months in advance, making it highly flexible and giving users better opportunities to manage their travel plans.
Customer-savvy, the website is also available in multiple-languages - French, German and Italian, as well as English. More languages are set to come on board in the coming months.
