Hire A Hubby Founder Joins At Your Request
The man who brought Hire A Hubby to NZ has joined the @ Your Request Franchise Group as a regional franchisee.
Mark Lewis who has had over a decade in franchising on both sides of the Tasman says the home services market has room
for growth "I've been actively looking around for businesses since selling Hire A Hubby and it's clear to me there is a
lot of room in home services for new operators and for some serious growth in the whole market."
Lewis was first exposed to franchising in Australia where for nine years he worked with consultancy firm, Franchise
Developments. He returned to NZ in 1998 to found Hire A Hubby, which he sold two years later to Fletcher Building and
stayed on with the company in a management role for a further two years.
"Obviously I've got a lot of experience in franchising as a consultant and as a franchisor, so I researched the hell
out of it, set a criteria for any business I'd buy into and @ Your Request met that, it has the elements that most
franchisors dream about being able to provide their franchisees"
Lewis said. The switch of role from franchisor to franchisee is not common but Lewis believes it's the right one.
"You've got to be able to deliver your franchisees business longevity, systems and right now technology is crucial too,
to do that takes resources, know how and the right people. I've not seen anywhere else I could have delivered that and
there was no way to do it on my own, as a business opportunity this is too strong to pass up."
