Singapore Airlines To Introduce Three Additional Services Per Week Between Auckland And Singapore
Singapore Airlines has today announced that it will introduce three additional weekly flights on the Auckland –
Singapore route, effective from 28 October 2003.
The three additional weekly flights will complement Singapore Airlines’ existing schedule, and will see the airline
operating ten non-stop services between Auckland and Singapore per week and five weekly non-stop services between
Christchurch and Singapore.
“Singapore Airlines has recognised the need to introduce the additional services to help meet forecast demand from
international visitors and local travellers alike," said Singapore Airlines’ General Manager New Zealand, Mr S H Chin.
The additional services will be operated by state of the art Boeing 777-200 Extended Range aircraft, one of the most
technologically advanced and comfortable commercial aircraft ever built. Its open, spacious interior, remarkable level
of comfort and ability to traverse long distances has made it the aircraft of choice among the world’s top airlines.
“Whilst affording our passengers a heightened level of comfort and expended itinerary options, the additional capacity
will also provide additional cargo space for local exporters and importers”, said Mr Chin.
Departing Auckland on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, the new flights will have a mid-afternoon arrival into
Singapore, and mean that passengers travelling to destinations in Asia will enjoy more convenient same-day connections
in Singapore.
