Media Release
4 July 2003
Barfoot and Thompson Commercial is delighted to announce that Peter Churchill, formerly of AMP Henderson Global
Investors, will head its Corporate Sales division.
Mr Churchill brings with him 20 years of experience with AMP where he was most notably linked with the development of
the Botany Town Centre and adjacent large format retail development, ‘The Hub.’ He was also involved with the
development of the Manukau Supa Centa, the extension and refurbishment of LynnMall and the development and leasing of
the Pricewaterhouse Coopers Tower. He also managed the AMP Property Fund – a diversified portfolio worth more than $700
million.
Barfoot and Thompson Commercial Manager Layne Harwood says, “Peter is one of the most respected people in the New
Zealand commercial property industry and will be an enormous asset to the Barfoot and Thompson Commercial team.”
Mr Churchill says, “throughout my career I have experienced practically every aspect of commercial property except from
an agency perspective. This is really the last bastion for me to conquer.”
“Barfoot and Thompson Commercial has a dynamic growth profile and I am looking forward to further developing its share
of the corporate property market.”
He credits the strong similarities between the ethics of AMP and Barfoot and Thompson as one of the reasons he was
attracted to the role.
“My aim is to position Barfoot and Thompson as the agency of choice in the corporate property market.”
