Timken Extends Online Services to Australia & New Zealand Through Endorsia.com
The Timken Company today announced the extension of online services to authorised Australian and New Zealand distributors through The Timken Store at www.endorsia.com
The site provides 24/7 access to product availability, pricing, order placement, order status and other value-added applications.
"As part of Timken's global e-business initiative, this service allows our distributor partners in Australia and New Zealand to conduct business more efficiently, anytime day or night," said Alastair Simkin, general manager - distribution management - Asia Pacific. "Timken's commitment to Endorsia is a customer-driven initiative that streamlines business transactions, bringing real value to both Timken and our distributors."
Jointly owned by Timken, INA Holding Schaeffler KG, Rockwell Automation, SKF Group and Sandvik Group through their Endorsia joint venture, endorsia.com is a convenient e-business marketplace. These and other premium brand manufacturers offer industrial distributors a valuable combination of products, knowledge and capabilities in one electronic location.
"We have implemented a Web site that is customer-focused, tailoring its functionality to the needs of our distributors," said Peter A Storey, general manager - sales and marketing. "The site is straight-forward and user- friendly. Our partners can now more efficiently perform many of the tasks online that before required either a telephone call or a fax. We are using endorsia.com as another means to strengthen our existing partnerships."
In addition to Australia and New Zealand, The Timken Store at endorsia.com serves markets throughout Asia and Europe with Timken(R) bearings and related parts.
The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR) (www.timken.com) is a leading international manufacturer of highly engineered bearings, alloy and specialty steels and components and a provider of related products and services. Following its February 2003 acquisition of The Torrington Company, Timken employs 28,000 people worldwide in operations in 29 countries.
