Grains Council Conference
'Uniting The Industry' is the theme of the 2003 Annual Grains Conference to be held on June 18 - 19 at the Sudima Hotel Grand Chancellor Airport in Christchurch.
The conference encompasses the Annual General meetings of the United Wheatgrowers, the Herbage Seedgrowers Subsection and the Maize Growers' Subsection.
Guest speakers will address key issues facing the industry. Day one speakers include Richard Ivess, Director Plant Imports, MAF Biosecurity Authority who will discuss changes to the import health standard of grain for processing and Paul Fahey of Champion Flourmills, who will talk about the implications for New Zealand growers of the Goodman Fielder ownership change.
Day two will focus on up to date technical information from Nick Pyke and Stuart Wright from the Foundation for Arable Research, David Clapperton from FMG Ltd and Rodney Green from Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-op.
