Kiwiherb Releases its Organic Children’s Echinacea
Kiwiherb, New Zealand manufacturers of organic herbal products, have just released their new product, an organic Children’s Echinacea.
With the start of winter and growing concerns about new infectious diseases, the release of this product designed specifically to support children’s immune systems is very timely.
Kiwiherb’s Children’s Echinacea is useful as a preventative to help ward off winter colds and viruses in infants and young children, or in larger doses to help speed healing during an infection that has already developed. It can also help in the treatment of glue ear and other infections in children.
Kiwiherb’s Children’s Echinacea is an alcohol-free, liquid Echinacea. It has been developed to contain therapeutic levels of active immunostimulant chemicals to boost the natural immunity in children of all ages, yet also to appeal to children with the fussiest of tastebuds.
The Kiwiherb brand is produced by Phytomed Medicinal Herbs Ltd, a New Zealand-owned and Auckland-based manufacturer of innovative herbal formulations including some based on native plant extracts.
The Echinacea range was formulated by Phytomed’s founder and managing director Phil Rasmussen, a highly qualified pharmacist and medical herbalist, with a background in pharmacological research.
“Kiwiherb only uses Echinacea root in its products, as research shows this to be the strongest part of the plant, with the highest concentration of immunity boosting chemicals known as alkylamides,” explains Rasmussen.
According to Rasmussen, the dosage and strength of Echinacea products taken is critical for the effectiveness of this herb. “It is of some concern that the quality of certain Echinacea containing products sold in the New Zealand market is such that beneficial results are unlikely to be achieved”, says Rasmussen. “Being produced from freshly harvested top quality New Zealand grown Echinacea, and tested by Crop and Food Research in Dunedin, we can guarantee safety and a high chance of effectiveness for all Kiwiherb Echinacea products.”
Kiwiherb Children’s Echinacea is manufactured from New Zealand grown organic Echinacea purpurea root, and is Certified Organic by New Zealand’s premier organic certification agency, Bio-Gro.
The Kiwiherb range was first launched in April 2002, with a product containing Echinacea extract combined with active manuka honey. This product has become even more highly sought after since SARS hit the headlines, both in the domestic and Singapore markets.
