Dairy Farmers Have Just One Week Left To Vote
Dairy farmers (farm owners and sharemilkers) have just one week left to cast their vote in the Dairy InSight Inc Board and Dexcel Trust elections. They will select five directors for Dairy InSight from a pool of fourteen candidates and four trustees for Dexcel from a pool of seven candidates.
Both elections will use the Single Transferable Voting system, and will be weighted by the volume of milksolids delivered to dairy companies from 1 June 2002 to 28 February 2003. Returning Officer Warwick Lampp says all dairy farmers were sent voting packs for the elections on Friday 9 May. The voting packs contained a candidate profile booklet for each organisation, and two voting papers – one for Dairy InSight and one for the Dexcel Trust. Dairy farmers have started voting in the election, using the Single Transferable Voting (STV) system but so far the response has been slow. This is a call to action for all dairy farmers to send their completed voting papers in now. Votes must be received no later than 5pm on Friday 30 May. The results of the elections will be declared by noon the following day.
