Campaign Heeds Own Message
The Target 10% campaign is following its own energy saving message while reinforcing the national savings call with outdoor advertising.
Instead of using spot lighting, and therefore electricity, to light up its outdoor billboards, the Target 10 campaign has used reflective vinyl material on its billboards to highlight the campaign and pass on energy savings tips.
Ambient street lighting, passing cars or reflected light from nearby buildings picks out the savings message, printed using the reflective lettering on a normal billboard skin.
Electricity Usage Update:
Conservation Savings for yesterday (Wednesday 14 May) were 5.6%. Total electricity demand was 98.9 GWh, down from the 102.6 GWh used on average at the same time last year.
National hydro storage levels were at 1983, 66% of average.
Daily demand information will be updated at 12 pm each day at http://www.winterpower.org
