Taskforce Welcomes Mercury Energy Initiative
Winter Power Taskforce Co-ordinator Patrick Strange has welcomed Mercury Energy's move to reward its customers for saving power.
Mercury Energy today launched a Beat Your Bill campaign to its residential and small commercial customers offering credits on their electricity bills in return for making energy savings.
"With the energy saving effort climbing to 4% today an initiative like this is just the sort of push we need to encourage people to make the extra effort to reach our 10% savings target," says Dr Strange.
"I congratulate Mercury Energy and hope other energy retailers will follow its lead in the near future."
Mercury Energy has about 270,000 customers in the region from Taupo north, New Zealand largest population and industrial area.
