New Meat & Fibre Producers Chair
Ian Corney was been elected Chairman of the New Zealand Meat and Fibre Producers (NZMFP) Council at their Conference / AGM in Wellington yesterday.
Currently Ruapehu Provincial President and NZMFP Vice Chairman, Mr Corney has been involved with the Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc) since 1994 at both local and national level.
Mr Corney farms 2000 hectares, which consists of four blocks in the central King Country, in partnership with his wife Barbara and their son Jason.
"I am looking forward to the challenges of this position particularly when the meat and fibre sectors are at major cross roads in terms of their future direction, said Mr Corney.
Mr Corney replaces retiring Chairman Murray Taggart.
