World Recognised Business Authority To Present at ANZ Forums
At the invitation of ANZ Bank one of the world’s leading business experts - Joel Stern - will this week address New
Zealand business leaders in Wellington on 10 April and Auckland on 11 April.
Having regularly appeared on CNN and written for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Financial Times of
London, Mr Stern headlines the forums entitled – “Shareholder Wealth, Triple Bottom Line & Corporate Governance: The Challenges Facing Corporate New Zealand.” Mr Stern is Managing Partner of New York-based
Stern Stewart & Co (bio at bottom).
Other speakers include ANZ Head of Regional Investment, Joseph Healy, who recently published his book ‘Corporate
Governance & Wealth Creation in New Zealand’. Capital Economics Director, Bryce Wilkinson, will speak at the Wellington forum.
Massey University’s Chair in International Business, Nick van Der Walt, is the third speaker in Auckland.
ANZ General Manager of Corporate Banking, Dean Adams, says the forum will introduce policies fundamental to good
business management.
“The purpose of the forum is to pass on practical and relevant business principles that can and should be applied to
business in New Zealand,” he says.
“The forum will show that maximising shareholder wealth, social responsibility, other stakeholder interests and
corporate governance are all intrinsically linked in a well managed business, regardless of its size.
“How to align the interests of business owners and managers is a discussion we often have with customers. The
application of EVA principles is one way to achieve this and is something ANZ strongly believes in.
“We want to take a more proactive role in introducing these proven principles and sound financial concepts to our
customers.”
