Technology understanding business.
By Rob Chamberlain - Chief Executive | Streamex
We are entering a new era where technology has to work in an organic way for business providing total solutions.
Where its no longer about company processes and systems adapting to generic software but about technology working for the whole company, the people within the company and the company’s clients and suppliers. Working in a way that enhances and improves business operations. Its about looking at how technology can make a process change, creating technology that works and delivers, that meets business objectives and strategies.
It’s easy to get lost in systems, instead of focusing on business objectives. Many technologies are implemented and by the time they are finished, they result in more solutions to accommodate the technology and before you know it you’ve lost sight of the objective or strategy.
Technology has become an end in itself. If we implement new technology it is assumed it will work for business.
In practice we find that often this just isn’t the case. Generic software can be a very limiting growth strategy, huge investment in unmalleable hardware.
The future lies in specific applications designed for your business, allowing the company to grow without changing its focus. There is a need for solutions that deal with direct problems. We are now in a stage where custom solutions are possible and affordable, which can deliver a direct business impact that is usable and credible, where the cost benefits are measurable. Its about systems that work beyond inside your company, systems that work with clients, suppliers and customers, streamlining processes and increasing the level of output creating a whole new arena.
Real-time is the only way of the future, technology that allows multiple users to access and alter in real-time. Smart technology that works inside your company’s existing frameworks, that can be accessed online anywhere, anytime, that work on a local and a global level.
Technology that automatically takes care of all the small details, that enhances communication, integrates manual processes with its functions and allows you to keep your focus on your company’s objectives and strategies. Technology that truly understands your business.
