Health Means Wealth - 2003 Mohair N Z Conference
Health Means Wealth is the theme of the 2003 Mohair New Zealand Conference to be held on 5 and 6 April at the Airport Commodore Hotel in Christchurch.
A panel discussion on the morning of Saturday 5 April will focus on the reduction and elimination of footrot - the nemesis of many a goat farmer - with speakers who have had success in footrot control from both the technical and practical sides of the industry.
Speakers include former Federated Farmer's Meat and Wool Chair Edward Orr, merino farmer Rod Patterson, Hawkes Bay goat farmer Gary Boyle and Lincoln scientist Dr Jon Hickford.
A visit to a yarn factory and a fibre evaluation workshop will held on Saturday afternoon.
The Annual General meeting of Mohair New Zealand will take place on the morning of Sunday 6 April. Sitting Chair Sue Atkins has indicated she will be standing down so an election will take place.
