Just Juice 40 Hour Famine Golf Day In Full Swing For 2003
Around 70 guests will today take over the Pakuranga Country Club for 18 holes of fundraising fun in the fourth annual
Frucor charity golf day.
Sporting celebrities attending this years' golf day include television personality Peter Williams and rugby league star
Tony Iro. Sports Café's iconic blonde bombshell 'Eva the Bulgarian' and the Just Juice advertisement celebrity Simon
Burrows will also be in attendance.
"Frucor Beverages has sponsored the famine for more than a decade through its Just Juice brand and the golf tournaments
are an extension of the company's commitment to World Vision", says Frucor Chief Executive Officer Carl Bergstrom.
A donation of $6500 raised from the golf day will go to World Vision for the 40 Hour Famine cause. This year's theme is
'make a difference to a child's life', with collections going to Cambodia.
Student representatives from seven Auckland schools will also showcase their golfing talent at the golf days. These
students have been selected by teachers because of their involvement in organising fundraising activities in their
schools, as well as for their sporting prowess.
The dress code for the day is a voluntary tropical theme and players will be given a colourful lei to wear on arrival at
the tournament. Each hole on the 18-hole course will be themed, with prizes awarded for the best costume and other
golfing challenges.
