Orion increases investment in 4RF Communications Ltd
Orion New Zealand Limited has invested a further NZ$3.6 million in innovative New Zealand microwave technology company 4RF Communications Ltd, bringing its total investment in the company to just over NZ$17 million.
Orion first invested in 4RF in early 2001 with an initial investment of NZ$6.5 million and an agreement for subsequent investment. The recent investments have been made in two tranches following 4RF achieving agreed revenue, international distribution, and technical milestones.
4RF engineers high-performance point-to-point radio technologies for professional mobile radio, trunking and cellular network applications. Exports to Western and Eastern Europe, South Africa, India, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and the Pacific have contributed 77% to 4RF revenues this year.
Orion New Zealand Chairman Linda Constable said Orion had been very pleased with the performance of 4RF and was looking forward to continuing to play an active role in the company’s development as it expands its international markets.
