Thrive! Business showtime launched
Fashion, men's toys and tax are about to compete for attention when Trelise Cooper, the Tamaki brothers and Ernst & Young share the spotlight at Thrive Auckland 2003 at the Aotea Centre on April 10th.
The lead up to Thrive Auckland kicked off today with billboards going up and the key speaker line up announced. (The
event's web site is www.thriveauckland.co.nz )
"Thrive! is for people determined to grow their businesses," said Alasdair Thompson, chief executive of the Employers & Manufacturers Association.
"It's totally about the three factors fundamental to all business success: motivation, getting the basics right, and
having an exciting time.
"Thrive! works because it relies on highly successful people presenting their own stories dramatically to demonstrate
you too can do it. At the same time the fundamentals of business strategy, planning and tax management are covered off.
"This time, aside from drawing on the remarkable talents of Trelise Cooper on making the most of your chances, and the
highly motivational Tamaki brothers, others presenting include:
* Stephen Tindall on how he grew his business,
* Navman's Peter Maire on expanding by exporting,
* Saatchi & Saatchi's CEO Ian Christie on getting your advertising seen and heard,
* Ernst & Young's Darren White and Kevin Jones on minimising your tax liability, and
* Denis Orme on making your business plan work.
"Thrive will be chaired by TV's Susan Wood with Auckland Mayor John Banks offering advice on why Auckland is the place
to be in business.
"The line up is a powerful mix of experience, canny business sense and charm. We expect it to be the largest business
event this year.
"This is the third high profile event of its kind in less than 12 months.
