Credit recognition scheme gives us competitive advantage
The credit transfer scheme announced by the Government yesterday gives New Zealand a competitive advantage over other countries, says Business NZ.
The scheme requires all tertiary education organisations to recognise credit from other organisations in a proactive way. This means for example people who are working and studying part-time will not have to repeat or duplicate course work if they shift to a different centre.
Business NZ Chief Executive Simon Carlaw says skilled, educated workers are fundamental to the nation's prosperity and moves to take blockages and inefficiencies out of the education system will facilitate economic growth.
"Business NZ is pleased to have been a member of the working party responsible for this practical, commonsense initiative. "
