New board member appointed for Synergy
Sandy Maier has been appointed to the Board of Synergy International Ltd. He replaces Richard Wilks who has resigned to take up a new position in Singapore.
Mr Maier is a financial, human resources and strategic management consultant who holds directorships with Mighty River Power, Vertex Group, McConnell International Property Ltd, Porter Novelli Investor Relations Advisory Board and Intelligent Optical Systems – Japan. He is a former director of the Bank of New Zealand and Citibank, Australia and was CEO for Citibank in New Zealand from 1986 to 1990.
In 1990 he was appointed by the Reserve Bank and the Minister of Finance as Statutory Manager of DFC New Zealand Ltd. Since the end of that project in 1992 he has undertaken a wide range of consultancy projects both in New Zealand and offshore.
The Chairman of Synergy International, Philip Shewell, said the company was extremely fortunate to have attracted a director with such formidable credentials.
