AIM Proximity appoints Sharon Henderson to new position of CEO
AUCKLAND - 26 February 2003 - AIM Proximity, New Zealand's leading direct and interactive marketing agency, today announced the appointment of Sharon Henderson to the new role of Chief Executive Officer. Ms Henderson returns from Sydney where she has been Managing Director of Australian sister company, Clemenger Proximity, since 2001. Robert Limb remains the Managing Director of AIM Proximity in Auckland, while Lance Walker has been promoted to Managing Director, Wellington. Prior to her move across the Tasman, Ms Henderson was Managing Director of AIM Proximity in New Zealand.
"We are delighted to welcome Sharon back to New Zealand and AIM Proximity," says Bill Gianotti, Executive Chairman. "The creation of the new CEO position reflects our determination to keep AIM Proximity at the forefront of world class best practice in marketing. While the Auckland and Wellington operations will continue to benefit from the outstanding leadership of Robert Limb and Lance Walker respectively, Sharon Henderson will be responsible for the strategic direction of the agency nationally, in particular, future developments and new product offerings in line with world trends."
"In eighteen months Sharon has transformed Clemenger Proximity into one of Australia's leading direct marketing agencies, adding twelve new clients and boosting growth across the country," says Mr Gianotti. To the three existing offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Ms Henderson added a fourth, in Adelaide. In addition, she was responsible for the creation of a national online creative unit, as well as the introduction of the Proximity iD database marketing and data mining services into the Australian market. Last month, Clemenger Proximity won accolades from AdNews, Australia's leading marketing publication, which awarded Clemenger Proximity second place overall in the prestigious Agency of the Year Awards.
