New NZBR website aims to invigorate public policy thinking
An online resource that is part library and part online community went live today with the aim of providing access to top-quality ideas and research to help boost the national economy.
The New Zealand Business Roundtable (NZBR) site at http://www.nzbr.org.nz < > http://www.nzbr.org.nz/> is an extensive online database of articles, submissions, speeches, publications and other resources from leading economic thinkers and business people.
NZBR chairman Rob McLeod said the new site was part of the organisation's wider effort to promote high-quality debate on public policy issues.
"We would like the website to become well-known for its rigorous research and ideas and so generate discussion on economic and public policy issues in New Zealand. It is only through informed and robust debate that real solutions to New Zealand's economic challenges will be found," he said.
"To do better than other countries requires superior, truly first class public policies and we see the website as having the potential to help invigorate public policy thinking in New Zealand."
The new site was conceived and designed by Marion Maslin of web design firm Webbit and NZBR advisor Norman LaRocque. Today's launch of the new NZBR site follows last August's successful launch of the Education Forum website http://www.educationforum.org.nz , which focuses on education policy issues.
