Commerce Commission clears Gribbles Group to
acquire Alpha Scientific
The Commerce Commission has cleared Gribbles Group Limited to acquire the business and business assets of Alpha
Scientific Limited.
Gribbles Group is involved in analytic laboratory analysis, diagnostic pathology, food microbiology and chemical
analysis.
Alpha Scientific is involved in veterinary diagnostic pathology, food microbiology and plant analysis.
The Commission is satisfied that the proposed acquisition would not have, nor would be likely to have, the effect of
substantially lessening competition in the veterinary diagnostic pathology market.
The Commission will publish its written report on its website, www.comcom.govt.nz/adjudication, shortly.
