ACC setting up Consumers’ Outlook Group
The Accident Compensation Corporation has marked the launch of the Code of ACC Claimants ’Rights at Parliament today with a supporting announcement that it is setting up a Consumers’ Outlook Group.
Welcoming the launch of the Code, ACC Board Chairman Hon David Caygill said the Consumers’ Outlook Group is being established to seek community advice on claimant service issues, to dimension and prioritise issues of concern, and to further assist ACC in its work with claimants.
Mr Caygill said the Consumers’ Outlook Group will also provide a forum to allow ACC to obtain information on matters related to advocacy services, and to allow ACC to share relevant information.
He said membership of the Consumers’ Outlook group will be invited from organisations in the community that represent ACC claimants.
Mr Caygill said the Consumers’ Outlook Group will meet quarterly with members of ACC’s senior management team including the Chief Executive.
The Code will come into force on 1 February 2003. Issues that have arisen before this date will not be dealt with under the Code but will be subject to existing claimant review and appeal rights.
