New Zealand Underground and Overground in UK
It’s a big week for New Zealand in the United Kingdom this week.
No matter where they go this week – underground or overground, London residents will be surrounded by images of New Zealand.
Across the United Kingdom a series of programmes on New Zealand starts today, running on the high-rating ITV television network every morning. While in London 100 posters are displayed in underground stations.
The exposure for New Zealand this week is very large, says George Hickton, Chief Executive of Tourism New Zealand. “The ITV breakfast programme alone reaches an estimated audience of 11 million viewers, so if you add to this the number of commuters that will view the 100% Pure New Zealand advertising in the Underground, this is substantial profile for New Zealand in one of our key markets.’
Tourism New Zealand’s 100% Pure New Zealand commercial will run on television in the United Kingdom throughout the month of January.
The ITV film crew was brought to New Zealand as part of Tourism New Zealand’s International Media Programme last November visiting Auckland, Martinborough, Wellington and Queenstown.
Presenter, Kate Garraway, who visited New Zealand, will have two segments on New Zealand each morning this week on prime-time television between 7 - 9am.
During this time New Zealand specialist operator - Travelbag, will also be giving away 20 holidays to New Zealand.
Meanwhile the promotion in the London Underground, being run in conjunction with Air New Zealand, will see advertisements in over 100 London underground sites over the next month.
Tourism New Zealand’s IMP programme hosts approximately 500 international media from New Zealand’s key markets in New Zealand every year.
The United Kingdom is New Zealand’s second largest market attracting 234,547 visitors in the year ended November 2002.
