And Now Price Increases For Exporters…
In an environment of a strong NZ dollar and declining world demand, exporters using Air New Zealand to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane have been hit with a 15% increase in freight rates effective 16th February.
Chamber Chief Executive Michael Barnett has expressed surprise given recent announcements of increased space availability and competitive pricing from Air New Zealand, and has approached Air NZ Cargo for an explanation.
“The signal exporters are getting is not consistent with earlier messages they were given during discussion on the Qantas merger and some explanation is warranted, Mr Barnett said.
