Christmas lockout off
The industrial dispute which threatened to see lines workers locked out on Christmas Day has been settled.
Kaikohe-based Top Energy has withdrawn lockout notices from 52 workers, and they have withdrawn their strike notice.
EPMU organiser Heinz Schmitt said that the collective agreement had been settled. The workers will receive pay rises of between four per cent and six per cent, and discussions about the company’s desire for increased flexibility around working hours has been deferred until next year.
