National Beekeepers Association Special Meeting
At a special meeting yesterday the National Beekeepers Association (NBA) resolved to retain its national structure under a voluntary membership due to the expiry of their Commodity Levy Order.
As a result of this resolution the majority of the NBA executive decided not to renew its administration contract with Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc).
"This decision has provided the NBA with a window of opportunity to reassess its future options," said NBA President Don Bell.
"In recent weeks a large group of NBA members have joined Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc) with the objective of establishing an industry sector group under the Federation's umbrella.
"The NBA executive will be communicating further with members over the Christmas/New Year Period."
