New President, Vice President

New President, Vice President At Wellington Regional Chamber Of Commerce
Peter Steel has been elected as the new Wellington Chamber President, in succession to Barrie Saunders who has stepped down after a three-year stint.
Peter will take over at the end of this month, and will be assisted by Simon Arnold who has been elected Vice President for 2003.
Peter was Vice President of the Chamber in 2002, and is a Principal with Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner, with qualifications as a civil engineer and economist.
Peter has over twenty years local and international experience, and has been involved in projects ranging form roading and public transport, to land development work, wastewater, stormwater and telecommunications infrastructure. He has recently worked on the design of regional port and marina facilities, the Wellington Airport upgrade and the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary. New Vice President Simon Arnold is a Director of Arnold and Woodhall Ltd. His company helps commercialise innovative ideas, and advises on innovation and industry policy.
Previously Simon was CEO of the New Zealand Manufacturers Federation and policy adviser to PM Jenny Shipley. Prior to that he had over 20 years in the public service, including a period as Deputy Government Printer. He now chairs the NRG Charitable Trust, which is establishing a business incubator in Wellington to support young entrepreneurs, and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
