Top Companies, Business Leaders selected for 2002
Auckland: 1 November, 2002. The finalists for the annual Deloitte/Management magazine Top 200 Awards have been announced
for 2002.
The contenders for the title of Executive of the Year are Auckland International Airport CEO, John Goulter, Carter Holt
Harvey’s Chris Liddell and Ralph Waters, CEO of Fletcher Building.
Company of the Year will be decided between Auckland International Airport, Cavalier Corporation and Fulton Hogan.
Finalists for Chairperson of the Year are William Falconer, chair of Restaurant Brands, Westgate Transport and Hellaby
Holdings, Ian Farrant, chair of Fulton Hogan and Broadway Industries, and Keith Smith, chair of The Warehouse Group and
Tourism Holdings.
Other Category Finalists are:
Emerging Enterprise: Delica New Zealand, Kathmandu, Software of Excellence.
Best Corporate Strategy: F Healthcare, Powerco, Tatua Co-operative Dairy Co.
Business Ethics Award: Norske Skog, Transpower New Zealand, Snowy Peak/Untouched World.
Judges for this year’s Awards are: Company director, Alison Paterson, Roger Kerr, CEO of Asia/Pacific Risk Management
and Jonathon Cimino, principal of Cimino & Partners
The winners will be announced at the Deloitte/Management magazine Top 200 Awards dinner in Auckland on 28 November,
2002. A special “Visionary Leader” Award will also be presented that night.
