New Zealander heads Teradata’s expansion into South East Asia market
Emerging markets signaled to play vital role in Teradata’s continued growth
Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), has announced Julian Beavis – the New Zealand born and based vice president of its Australia New Zealand (ANZ) operation – will expand his role within the company, heading up Teradata’s burgeoning South East Asia (SEA) division.
Mr Beavis has lead Teradata’s ANZ operation since it was established as a separate business division within NCR in 2000. The company’s Asia Pacific Region Vice President Peter Hand says Teradata is confidant Mr Beavis’ appointment will help create further inroads into the emerging SEA markets.
“Teradata’s decision to combine the Australian-New Zealand organisations with South East Asia under Julian's stewardship acknowledges the critical roles the current Australasian operation and these emerging markets have within Teradata’s growth plans,” said Mr Hand.
Teradata has already made impressive inroads into the SEA market under the directorship of Area Leader Dean Kelly who will continue in his present role with assistance from Mr Beavis.
Wins already secured in Singapore, Malaysia and India include; projects with Malaysia’s Hong Leong Bank, India’s ICICI and Centurion Banks, TVSE in India, Singapore’s Development Bank.
Mr Beavis says the new structure – which will see the integration of customer services, HR, finance and marketing services within the two operations – will enable Teradata to faster grow the SEA region by leveraging the skills and experiences resources within ANZ.
“The South East Asia team is a small but highly passionate group whose dedication will undoubtedly see them duplicate the kind of wins we’ve already experienced in the area over the past 18 months,” said Mr Beavis. “Our growth plan will be to continue to target banks and telecos within the South East Asia market in order to secure a solid platform for Teradata’s growth and stability.”
Mr Beavis also added that the change, effective immediately, will benefit the current Australasian professional services team via Teradata’s On-Site Off-Shore professional services development centre in Mumbai. He says it will give individuals the opportunity to accelerate their personal professional development while driving costs down by leveraging skills and resources across both groups.
Teradata currently employs a 235 strong team across the SEA and ANZ regions.
