Singapore Airlines Increases Bali Services To Meet Demand
Singapore Airlines last night announced that, until 21 October 2002, it will operate a fifth daily service to and from Bali to help meet the current high demand for flights out of Bali.
The additional service will depart from Bali at 2230hrs each day and will boost the number of Singapore Airlines seats from Denpasar to Singapore to almost 1,200.
Understandably, loads on all flights are now very high out of Bali, but demand is currently manageable. The extra flight will help those from countries around the world leave Bali to transfer to flights in Singapore to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North Asia.
Additional staff have been sent to Bali to assist Singapore Airlines customers who wish to change their travel arrangements and depart earlier than originally planned.
Singapore Airlines will waive any airline-related fees for customers who cancel, defer or change their travel plans to Bali between now and 31 October 2002, when the situation will be further reviewed. Those who have made bookings on package tours, however, should ask their tour operator if cancellation fees will apply.
Security in and around Denpasar Airport has been increased, and SIA will continue to monitor developments in the area. Security of our customers, crew and aircraft is paramount.
The staff of Singapore Airlines express their deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones in the tragic events in Bali, and share the hopes and anxieties of many others awaiting news of their families and friends.
