Frost-bitten Growers Must Avoid Wilting
Frost bitten kiwifruit growers need to be realistic about what they are telling themselves and get some facts before they wilt and go down the tubes, according to Don Fraser, a Waikato-based farm finance specialist.
What catastrophies, get realistic about what you are saying to yourself:
1. Get the facts - talk to your financial advisers
2. Look at frost protection measures for the future
3. Maintain a positive view by talking to positive people
4. If stress levels go too high, seek professional help including talking to your GP
There are no hopeless situations that cans when the frost bite really sets in. Wives and partners need to look out for telltale signs of stress in their spouses and be prepared to do something about it, says Fraser.
