Telecom Continues Its Expansion Of 027 Coverage And Services With Five New Sites In The South Island
Telecom Mobile is spending nearly $2 million to bring its state of the art 027 mobile phone services to more Mid and South Canterbury customers.
Telecom has expanded its 027 network coverage in Methven, the north Timaru suburb of Grantlea, Twizel and Lake Tekapo township. In addition improved coverage will come to Roydvale, Christchurch this week.
Telecom Manager Mobile Networks, Stephen Crombie, says the new facilities will provide more mobile coverage and increased capacity to the growing number of Telecom’s 027 customers.
The new 027 sites complement existing ones with 025 and 027 coverage capabilities located in Rakaia, Dromore, Ashburton, Hinds and Fairlie. Further south, Telecom’s coverage takes in Waimate, Kurow and Otematata.
The new investment in the South Island is part of Telecom’s national expansion programme of the 027 mobile service. More than 170,000 customers are already using the 027 network.
Customers using an 027 mobile phone, a handheld computer or a laptop, can enjoy the benefits of remote working by accessing Telecom’s Mobile JetStream fast data mobile network. Wherever there is 027 coverage, the network will provide fast access via the Internet to services like email, banking and news services, as well as desktop applications on company networks.
