New Chairman For Television Broadcasters' Council
The new chairman of the NZ Television Broadcasters' Council is TVNZ Chief Executive Officer, Ian Fraser. Mr Fraser replaces Rick Ellis, the former CEO of TVNZ.
The Council's rules provide for each member to hold the chair for two years and TVNZ is in the middle of its period of tenure. Mr Ellis attended his final meeting in early August and has taken up a position as Managing Director of EDS NZ Ltd.
Mr Fraser thanked Mr Ellis for putting the Council on a sound footing since its inception in November 1998 and bringing in Sky Television as a member.
The Television Broadcasters' Council represents the non-competitive interests of the broadcast television industry and its members are Television New Zealand, CanWest New Zealand, Prime Television New Zealand and Sky Television.
