EMS-Global boosts international growth by relaunching technology platform under 'EMS Cortex' and strengthening partnership with Telecom New Zealand
Global industry standard in secure Internet Protocol communications main aim with new EMS Cortex brand
AUCKLAND, 14 August 2002 - EMS-Global, New Zealand's leading telecommunications solution provider, today announced the rebranding of its successful secure Internet Protocol platform, previously known as ECIS (E-Commerce Infrastructure Service), under the new name, EMS Cortex.
"Our vision is to make this smart technology the industry standard around the world, so we need a brand that helps us achieve this goal," explains EMS-Global founder and CEO, Waynne Dartnall. "Cortex, that part of the brain responsible for smart thought and reasoning, encapsulates the essence of our core product: smart network technology which makes our customers look smart."
EMS Cortex, the flagship product of EMS-Global, ensures a secure Internet Protocol (IP) communication platform, allowing service providers, such as telcos, to give customers safe and secure access to a range of value added network services, monitored and managed around the clock.
"After two and a half years deployment in New Zealand, Australia and, more recently the United Kingdom, EMS Cortex has already become the industry standard for secure integrated IP platforms in those markets," said Mr Dartnall.
EMS Cortex, under the brand name 'Safecom', is the technology chosen by Telecom New Zealand to underpin the security of its data services delivery to major corporate customers. In the United Kingdom, British Telecom has introduced EMS Cortex under the 'Ultimus' brand of security offerings, while in Australia EMS Cortex is available through AAPT under the 'SecurePoint' brand. In addition, EMS Cortex is available through the Managed Service Provider (MSP) model in Australia, Asia and Europe.
Telecom New Zealand partnership with EMS-Global
Commenting on the successful partnership between EMS-Global and Telecom New Zealand, Chris Quin, General Manager of Telecom Advanced Solutions said that EMS Cortex, under Telecom's 'Safecom' brand, has been a highly successful offering. "There are, currently, more than 70 corporate clients profiting from the high degree of security and integrity that 'Safecom' delivers."
"Telecom continually evaluates new and emerging third party products and we are confident that EMS Cortex will ensure EMS-Global maintains its product lead. Furthermore, in partnership with EMS-Global, we are looking to expand our joint business activity in Australia and around the world," said Mr Quin. According to Michael Redman, Managing Director of Grey Worldwide (NZ), the marketing agency for EMS-Global, the new EMS Cortex brand matches the dynamic and innovative pace set by the company. "EMS-Global is one of the fastest growing companies in New Zealand and it needs a brand, like Cortex, that matches the company's aspiration to be the global industry standard in its field. We are privileged to work with a New Zealand technology company that is having so much success nationally and off shore," he said.
