SORENSEN GROUP APPOINTS FORMER EVENING POST BUSINESS EDITOR
New Zealand's newest but most experienced public relations consultancy, Sorensen Group, has today announced the appointment of former Evening Post Business Editor Phil Love to its Wellington office as an Account Director.
"We had identified Phil as someone we wanted to join our Wellington team and the announcement that The Evening Post was going to close provided the opportunity for us to offer him a senior position in public relations," Sorensen Group chief executive Klaus Sorensen said.
"Phil has an excellent knowledge of the both the Wellington and national business sectors as well as strong relationships with senior business leaders throughout the country. Over the past eight years covering business, Mr Love has built up a strong knowledge in funds management, insurance, share floats, telecommunications, the IT sector and biotechnology."
He won a Citibank sponsored business writing merit award in 1998 and also scooped the national sports journalism awards in 1990 with his exclusive coverage of All Black John Gallagher's switch from rugby union to rugby league.
For the past three years he's been a director of the Health Sponsorship Council, whose flagship brand is Smokefree.
He comes to Sorensen Group with a Diploma in Public Relations from Massey University and a National Certificate in Business Studies.
"As The Evening Post Business Editor, Phil was an avid supporter of business throughout the wider Wellington region. He brings that enthusiasm and his understanding of business to Sorensen Group," Mr Sorensen said.
Phil will be working with Sorensen Group's Wellington Manager, Rob McGregor.
