The Sharemilkers National Council has voted overwhelmingly to have a 2003 Conference, and the venue has been chosen to provide an atmosphere convivial to agribusiness managers, says Jeff Bolstad, Chairman of the Sharemilkers Section.
Informative industry seminars and farm visits would still be a part of the three-day conference to be held at Lincoln University on 24-26 April 2003. The National Sharemilker of the Year dinner will be held on 26 April.
"The Conference will be one that encourages delegate interaction allowing the transfer of successful farm management ideas," said Mr Bolstad. "The aim is to have a conference with a difference, filled with interesting discussion, stimulating activities and educational pursuits.
"The Sharemilkers Council felt there was a need for a "back to basics' conference. The concept of having diverse sessions to encourage delegate participation was accepted.
"Changes in our industry dictates that sharemilkers need to have a united front to ensure sustainability. What better way to collate ideas and gather views that in a relaxed atmosphere, with the country's successful sharemilkers, Mr Bolstad concluded.
