Strong Dollar Enables Shell To Reduce Petrol Prices
Shell New Zealand today announced it was reducing the price of both grades of petrol by 2 cents per litre, effective
immediately.
"This will lead to a reduction at the pump of up to two cents per litre in many parts of New Zealand with a new
prevailing price of 1.089 cents per litre for 91 octane and 1.139 cents per litre for 96 octane. However in some areas
of the North Island, where intense competition has already seen prices fall, motorists may not see any adjustment at
their local Shell outlet," Shell's Retail Manager Bruce Emson said.
"Shell is delighted to be able to deliver the benefits of a stronger dollar to the New Zealand motorist.
"This price reduction continues Shell's commitment to bringing New Zealanders the lowest possible fuel prices and comes
about as a result not only of the strengthening New Zealand dollar but also a more stable international oil market," Mr
Emson said.
