Maori Television Service Appoint CEO

Having completed formalities required by the Government, the Board of the Maori Television Service is now able to announce that it has selected a Chief Executive Officer.
The successful applicant is John Davy, a Canadian born businessman.
Mr Davy won the job over more than twenty applicants from this country and around the world.
The Chairman of the Maori Television Service Board Derek Fox says, “John Davy was selected ahead of others because of the strong financial and management skills and experience he has. He also has strong start-up experience and those are the sort of skills we need right now. The Board members are completely confident that he will carry out the task we require of him.”
Mr Davy is in the country now, and will be available at a news conference in Auckland at 11 o’clock tomorrow morning in the conference room of the Koru lounge at the domestic terminal.

Canadian born, Mr. Davy brings over 25 years of international business, finance and entertainment experience to Maori Television. Mr. Davy, residing in Auckland since June of 2001, was initially hired as CEO/CFO for an emerging company in the field of virtual internet and consumer e-commerce. Mr. Davy is the former CEO for Asia Pacific Investment Advisors Ltd. in Hong Kong, managing IPO’s and client offshore portfolios; CEO for International Business Partners in Canada, engaged in international forensic auditing, network marketing solutions and corporate structuring; CFO and Director of HR & IT for one of Saudi Arabia’s largest telecommunication joint venture companies. He holds an MBA from Denver University and he is a Certified Financial Management Accountant.
Mr. Davy also has over 35 years experience in the entertainment and sports industry. He is an accomplished recording & video producer, composer, songwriter and musician. He has extensive experience in: drafting and managing international licensing and royalty agreements; major event management and professional sports administration. He has authored two books “The Platinum Formula” and “The Art of Record Producing”
