Outstanding business performance matched by strength of business vision and leadership has seen Wellington advertising agency, Clemenger BBDO named as Sunday Star-Times/AdMedia Agency of the Year for 2002. (Over $25million category)
From a strong field of title contenders, judges considered Clemenger BBDO best demonstrated the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing media marketplace and put in place business strategies that enhanced levels of client service delivery and overall business performance.
AIM Proximity has won The Sunday Star-Times/AdMedia Agency of Year under $25 million billings category.
In AIM Proximity, judges saw an agency that had astutely managed its transition and growth while maintaining earnings, people and clients to turn in a solid business performance.
Andrew Stone, chief executive of GeneratorBates, has been named as the NAB/AdMedia agency CEO of the Year for 2002.
Judges considered that given difficult market conditions, all contenders for this Award had performed strongly in their leadership role and, as managers, would be up with the best in any sector of the economy.
They considered the performance of Andrew Stone as a management case study of strategic thinking, vision, drive and leadership in action and described him as a “genuine leader who knows how to achieve objectives and take his people with him”.
The AdMedia/Getty Images Wildcard Award has this year gone to up and coming agency the bridge.
In just 18 months, the agency has transformed itself from a small, financially troubled business to a significant player with billings of more than $6 million. It’s business performance over the last year sees the agency rated 38 in the Deloitte top 50 fastest growing New Zealand companies.
