New Maori Affairs Correspondent Appointed To One News & Current Affairs
TVNZ Head of News & Current Affairs, Heaton Dyer, today announced Te Karere presenter Tini Molyneux will be the ONE NEWS Maori Affairs Correspondent.
Tini Molyneux has been working with TVNZ's Maori Programmes Department for the past 15 years in a variety of roles including directing, producing, presenting and reporting for Te Karere each weekday on TV ONE. During this time, she has worked on a vast array of Maori language programmes featuring news and current affairs - from Waka Huia, Marae and Te Karere, in addition to presenting various one-off programmes such as the Maori Sports Awards and the Aotearoa Maori Festival of Performing Arts.
Mr Dyer said, "Over many years Tini has worked closely with News & Current Affairs including reporting for Assignment and this, combined with her time in Maori programming, has given her the depth and breadth of experience that will enhance our coverage of issues important to both Maori and the wider public."
Tini Molyneux joins ONE NEWS in March 2002 and is looking forward to taking up this new position.
"This is an exciting time to be involved with keeping all New Zealanders fully informed about events happening to Maori within the community," Ms Molyneux commented.
