'Ultimate Student Flat' Promotion Comes With Important Message
"If you are a tertiary student and you are paying bank fees - you shouldn't be," says ANZ Bank Head of Consumer and
Rural Markets Natalie Sutherland.
This is the message that ANZ has been pushing as a sponsor of University orientation programmes throughout the country
including Auckland, AUT, Waikato University and Polytech, Taranaki Polytech, Massey, Victoria, Lincoln, Canterbury and
Otago.
The Bank has also launched a specifically designed product promotion for tertiary students where anyone who takes out an
ANZ Student Package up to 29 March 2002 will go into the draw to win the Ultimate Student Flat.
The Ultimate Student Flat includes - $155 towards rent and $125 towards everyday living expenses each week; plus free
rental on a stereo, TV, video, DVD player, Sony Play Station, lounge suite and a coffee table to the value of $125 per
week over the tertiary study period of 37 weeks.
"With rent, food, clothing, curriculum costs, books and everything else it is no wonder most students have a tough time
making ends meet," says Mrs Sutherland. "ANZ's Ultimate Flat will help out one student for the year, but as a Bank we
can also help out every student in the country.
"The ANZ Student Package provides an everyday banking account with no transaction, service or administration fees.
Students simply need to let us know when they are opening accounts that they are studying and we will organise the rest.
It is as simple as it sounds and will save students money."
As part of the ANZ Student Package, students can also apply for a $500 overdraft in their first year and pay no interest
until they finish their study. A further $500 overdraft in each of the second and third years will incur discounted
interest charges.
A Personal loan of up to $2000 per year for up to three years is also available upon application, with interest-only
repayments during their period of study and for 12 months after completion of study. Credit cards are also available on
application.
