Pay American Express card bills at PostShops and Books & More stores
Auckland, 18 February, 2002 - New Zealand Post and American Express announced that as from today (Monday, 18 February) American Express card members can pay their monthly accounts at any of New Zealand Post's 313 PostShop and Books & More outlets.
It will be the first credit or charge card payment accepted over New Zealand Post counters.
American Express Country Manager Atul Mathur says the agreement with New Zealand Post is an important step in offering greater flexibility and convenience to card members.
"This arrangement means that our card members will have the flexibility of paying their accounts over the counter at locations all around the country," he says.
American Express will also be offering customers an online payment option using www.ebill.co.nz - New Zealand Post's Internet bill presentment and payment website. The start date for paying with eBill is currently being finalised but is expected to be available in March.
New Zealand Post's Payments Business Manager Paul Kennedy says New Zealand Post is in a unique position to provide these services with its long tradition as a trusted, well established collection agent.
"We are applying the same principals as delivering traditional mail, using the electronic form. These days customers demand a range of payment options and our nation-wide, over-the-counter network and Internet options provide them."
Other recent over?the-counter payment additions include insurance provider State Insurance and The InterIsland Line's payments for ferry bookings. New Zealand Post now offers the ability to pay over 55 different organisations at PostShops and Books & More. eBill currently offers 15 - with two more to be implemented soon.
