Industry Event Surges Ahead
Engineering, manufacturing and plant automation industry trade event, EMEX 2002, is already 80 percent full, well ahead
of schedule says sales manager Bob Deacon.
“It’s time for organisations who want to be part of EMEX to make a move or they’ll miss out. We already have 150
exhibitors booked, and most of the larger spaces have been booked for many months. There is strong demand for the
remaining stands.
“The dedicated Automation and Control Court is nearly full, and there is very strong interest in machine and
manufacturing technology, with a wide range of exhibitors featuring everything from software through plant control
equipment.”
Visitors to EMEX 2002 will see all of the latest technology and advances in engineering. Working demonstrations will be
a feature of many displays, and there are some very ambitious and exciting projects being planned by many of the
exhibitors, says Deacon.
“Knowledge is a key driver for the entire event. Special seminar series will be a feature of EMEX 2002. We’re calling
for papers now for the Automation and Control Series, as well as seminars on the latest Engineering and Manufacturing
Technology. The focus is on education—on showing the industry what’s out there and how it could be advantageous to the
business of manufacturers and other users of this technology.
“EMEX is also a great place to meet and talk with the key people in the supply side of the industry. Many exhibitors
will have their top technical people available to talk through problems and solutions, and the new Marketplace area for
new or small suppliers will quickly let visitors see emerging engineering technology.
“We expect this to be among the best and biggest engineering events ever in New Zealand, and to attract at least as many
as EMEX 2000’s 9000 visitors.”
EMEX 2002 will be held at the Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane over three days from May 12 to 14 2002. The event is a
trade-only show, restricted to those involved in engineering and manufacturing. Those in the industry and wishing to
visit can register online at www.emex.co.nz
