Vector Line Charge Cut

Published: Tue 18 Dec 2001 05:19 PM
Today’s VECTOR announcement of line charge reductions for 30,000 small commercial customers of between 14% and 25% sends a challenge to other line companies to follow suite.
Welcoming VECTOR’s line charge reduction, Michael Barnett, chief executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, noted that even before the announcement VECTOR’s charges were already below other major urban network companies.
“Clearly, these changes will widen the gap between VECTOR and other companies, and hopefully force them to meet the market,” said Mr Barnett.
He noted that VECTOR attributed the reductions in charges to a business culture of continually improving the efficiency of the network. “If VECTOR can do it, I see no reason why other companies cannot also.”
