Hamilton business Convenience Stores has launched a new website www.conveniencestores.co.nz this year which could save people an embarrassing trip to the chemist to buy condoms.
The site offers visitors from New Zealnd and abroad the facility to order condoms online or by mail order. It also contains links to other sites that contain information on condom use.
The e-commerce initiative challenges traditional distribution channels and provides a partial solution to issues raised in a recent government study into condom use in NZ. Findings included a need for condoms to be more accessable to help curb a spiraling rate of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
