Compaq 50K Of Coronet Sponsorship Wins National Award
AUCKLAND, 23 November 2001 – Compaq Computer New Zealand has received national recognition for its sponsorship of the
50K of Coronet ski race.
At a black tie awards ceremony at Eden Park last night, Compaq was announced winner of the 2001 Best National
Non-Televised Sponsorship at the 2001 New Zealand Post Sports Sponsorship Awards.

Zealand. “Our business focuses on enabling innovation in our customers through inspirational technology. The skill and
commitment of the skiers who compete in this race to be their best and raise money for charity is inspiring, as are the
brave children that Cure Kids supports.”

The Compaq 50K of Coronet was launched in 2000 with Compaq Computer New Zealand as foundation and title sponsor. In 2001
the race raised a total of $180,000 for charity, $151,000 that went to Cure Kids, a division of the Child Health
Research Foundation and $29,000 for the Queenstown Alpine Ski Club who provide a 200+ strong volunteer force for the
race.
The Compaq 50K of Coronet will take place in 2002 from 29-30 August.
