Christchurch, 19 November, 2001 – An enterprising Christchurch couple have swept up the local home cleaning market by
winning a major award and almost winning another.
Green Acres’ master franchisees for the Christchurch area, Malcolm and Elizabeth Thompson are winners. Not only have
they won the Green Acres’ 2001 Territory award, but have now been judged second runners up in the Franchise Association
of New Zealand’s (“FANZ”) Master Franchise category.
“What makes us so happy as second runners up in FANZ’s annual awards, is that we are competing directly against a
significant Master Franchisor,” says Malcolm Thompson. “We are only one of sixty Master Franchisees in the Green Acres’
group, but still managed to almost win against a Master Franchisor that represents the backing of an entire Australian
franchise system.”
Malcolm and Elizabeth Thompson manage eleven cleaning franchises in the Christchurch region, and start their twelfth
tomorrow. The couple have been Green Acres’ Master Franchisees for four years and in that time have worked with their
team of operators to deliver the best home cleaning services to their Christchurch customers.
