FEDERATED FARMERS OF NEW ZEALAND (Inc) NATIONAL COUNCIL

Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc) will hold its 2001 National
Council meeting on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 November at the Novotel Wellington Hotel, Wellington.
The meeting will hear the organisation's draft plans for next year, reports from the industry groups that make up the federation, and review membership and service goals.
ACC Injury Prevention General Manager, Keith McLea, and Murray Sherwin, Chief Executive of MAF and Director-General of Agriculture and Forestry will give presentations during the two-day meeting.
Hon Pete Hodgson, Minister for Research, Science and Technology will update the Council on the Government's Climate Change Policy and the Kyoto Protocol.
The Minister for Local Government, Hon Sandra Lee will provide an update on the Rating Powers Act, and the review of Local Government and the Department of Conservation in respect to Resource Management Act compliance costs.
Hon Jim Sutton, Minister of Agriculture will discuss the Agriculture and Biosecurity portfolios.
Parts of the National Council meeting may go into committee, in particular 1:30 - 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
