NEW ZEALAND MEAT AND FIBRE PRODUCERS COUNCIL MEETING

The New Zealand Meat and Fibre Producers of Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc) will hold their annual Council
Meeting on Wednesday 31 October and Thursday 1 November at the West Plaza Hotel, Wellington.
The Council is the governing body of the New Zealand Meat and Fibre Producers (NZMFP).
NZMFP Chairman Murray Taggart will give an opening address at 10:30am on Wednesday 31 October.
Mr Taggart says that the deregulation of the New Zealand Wool Board will be a hot topic of discussion following the
Board's AGM in Napier tomorrow. "I am pleased that the Council will have the opportunity to hear from Mark O'Grady Chief
Executive, New Zealand Wool Board and Richard Gardner, Chief Executive, WoolPro."
Other speakers include Adrian Orr, Westpac Trust Chief Economist, and Jacob Haronga, Policy Analyst Federated Farmers
who will discuss the implications of the Government's Climate Change policy for farmers.
On Thursday John Dalziell, Chairman of the Animal Health Board will speak on the National Tb Pest Management Strategy.
Chris Carter, Technical Manager, AgriQuality New Zealand Ltd will give a presentation on electronic identification.
SignaGen Business Development Manager Dr Tom Watson will discuss commercialising biotechnology.
